Job Description
- Ensuring that formulas comply with federal regulations regarding ingredient safety and labeling requirements
- Reviewing test results to determine whether any changes need to be made to the formula before production begins
- Conducting research to develop new products and improve existing products, such as developing new ingredients or discovering new ways to use existing ingredients
- Creating formulas for shampoos, conditioners, lotions, body washes, hair dyes, makeup, fragrances, and other cosmetic products
- Performing microbiological testing to ensure that products are free from harmful bacteria or other microbes
- Analyzing chemical samples using chromatography or other laboratory techniques to ensure that products meet quality standards
- Preparing samples of products for sale by creating labels, packaging, and formulating products to meet federal regulations
- Testing new products before they are introduced to the market to ensure they meet safety standards and perform as expected
- FDA Certified Qualified Personnel for Cosmetics
