Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Company Accountant who is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our team at Ascenders Business Solutions. The Company Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of our company, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, by IFRS and regulatory requirements.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop comprehensive budgets and financial forecasts to support business planning and decision-making processes. Monitor variances and provide analysis to management to support effective resource allocation.

3. Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis, including trend analysis, variance analysis, and profitability analysis, to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.

4. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and requirements, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax. Prepare and file tax returns accurately and in a timely manner.

5. Internal Controls: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data. Regularly review and update internal control procedures to mitigate risks and enhance efficiency.

6. Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during financial audits. Coordinate audit activities, provide requested documentation, and address auditor inquiries to facilitate smooth audit processes.

7. Cash Management: Manage cash flow effectively to meet operational needs and optimize investment opportunities. Monitor banking activities and reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.

8. Financial Systems Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software to support efficient accounting operations. Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to streamline workflows.

9. Compliance and Regulations: Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations that may impact the company. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

10. Financial Planning and Strategy: Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic financial plans and initiatives aligned with business objectives. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a Fin-Tech industry
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
- Experience with financial systems and software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
