Responsibilities:
● Implement the online community moderation strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across
the Company to ensure its effectiveness and providing superior quality of customer service and
support to our community with the help of various communication tools (EG: slack, email for
quizzes, etc)
● Review and moderate contributor network articles, liaising with the Legal and editorial teams
where required
● Use guidelines and critical thinking skills to identify local, evergreen, and other content topics as
necessary
● Manage the contributor operations emails, and track communications
● Maintain article and video moderation playbook standards and assist on updates where
required (where there are gaps between policy and implementation)
● Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring moderation volume, and analyze, review, and
report on the effectiveness of moderation policies through the QA process (teams)
● Regularly feedback insights gained from community moderation into the editorial team
● Availability to workdays, evenings, nights, as well as weekends as and when required
● Classification knowledge of media landscape and classifications of that content to apply codes to
article sources.
● High news literacy and the ability to distinguish fact from opinion
● Follow standard operational procedures for escalation
● Article title reviews
Requirements:
● Preferably a degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or another related field.
● Preferably with 1-3 years of proven work experience in article moderation or within the same
capacity
● Analytical skills for determining whether the content complies with guidelines
● Have strong interest and knowledge regarding current events and news in the U.S.
● Experience with political content preferred
● Capability to meet tight deadlines, and prioritize activities
● Multi-tasking and time-management skills are needed on this role
● Good knowledge of various content platforms Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure
environment
● Strong research, contextual analysis, and documentation skills with strong attention to detail
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Basic understanding of web technology, interfaces, dashboards
