Job Description

Job Summary

The HR Officer supports the recruitment, training, development, and overall well-being of employees. They ensure compliance with labor laws, maintain staff morale, and create a positive working environment that aligns with the hotel's objectives and guest service standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate the hiring process, including posting job openings, shortlisting candidates, and conducting interviews.
  • Prepare offer letters, contracts, and onboarding documentation.
  • Facilitate orientation programs for new employees to introduce them to company policies and culture.

2. Training & Development

  • Identify staff training needs and organize relevant programs to enhance skills.
  • Maintain records of employee training and certifications.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop career development plans.

3. Employee Relations

  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee queries and concerns.
  • Mediate conflicts between staff and assist in resolving workplace issues.
  • Organize employee engagement activities to promote a positive working environment.

4. Performance Management

  • Support managers in conducting performance reviews and appraisals.
  • Track probation periods, promotions, and role transitions.
  • Develop performance improvement plans when required.

5. Compliance & Administration

  • Ensure adherence to labor laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain and update personnel records, payroll inputs, and attendance tracking systems.
  • Coordinate with payroll to manage employee compensation and benefits.

6. Health, Safety & Welfare

  • Monitor employee health and safety protocols and ensure compliance with hotel policies.
  • Facilitate initiatives to promote mental and physical well-being.
Required Skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, Knowledge of labor laws and compliance requirements, Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, Conflict resolution and mediation skills, Proficiency in HR management software eg HRIS and Microsoft Office
