Job Description

 

Essential Duties

INFRASTRUCTURE MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT:​

  • *Ensure the hotel's physical assets are well-maintained, including the repair or replacement of infrastructure as needed
  • *Develop and manage construction, renovation, and restoration plans, including specifications, cost estimates, timelines, and quality standards
  • *Create general and preventive maintenance schedules
  • *Develop and implement policies and procedures for construction, maintenance, and upgrades
  • *Provide regular reports on maintenance work performed

INSPECTION AND ENERGY MANAGEMENT:

  • *Accompany the General Manager on facility inspections
  • *Create and execute energy conservation plans to optimize energy usage

COORDINATION AND OVERSIGHT:

  • *Coordinate with Building Maintenance to ensure proper upkeep of elevators
  • *Recommend and oversee the installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of plumbing fixtures and systems
  • *Maintain all hotel signages and recommend necessary improvements to rooms and public areas
  • *Establish nighttime checkups of the facility to ensure continuous operation and safety

GUEST IMPACT AND EMERGENCY READINESS:

  • *Ensure that maintenance activities are scheduled to minimize disruption to guests
  • *Ensure availability of an engineer or maintenance crew on call, 24/7
  • *Maintain records of hotel floor plans, electrical plans, structural plans, mechanical plans, etc.
  • *Maintain a list of all vendors, including their emergency contact numbers and contracts

PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND BUDGETING:

  • *Develop and execute cost management programs to maintain budget efficiency
  • *Review all project documentation, including timelines, costs of materials, labor, and time expended for repairs, replacements, or upgrades
  • *Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure favorable terms

COLLABORATION AND REGULATORY COMPLIANCE:

  • *Collaborate with core departments such as finance, sales, marketing, and housekeeping to meet deadlines and ensure zero defects in rooms while minimizing out-of-order rooms
  • *Keep accurate records of all permits, licenses, and compliance certificates
  • *Ensure full compliance and timely renewal of all permits and licenses to avoid penalties or operational disruptions
  • *Work closely with local government offices, regulatory agencies, and legal advisors to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
  • *Maintain a safe and healthy hotel environment for staff and guests

STAFF SUPERVISION AND TRAINING:

  • Supervise and train staff to ensure effective performance and adherence to maintenance standards
