Job Details

Position Title: Shift Manager

Managing People

  1. Provides clear role and responsibilities to frontline and backline team members
  2. Positions and repositions team members effectively
  3. Breaks are given properly and timely to team members
  4. Provides specific and timely feedback (positive and corrective)
  5. Provides coaching to enable the team members to achieve shift goals

Managing Service
Customer Relations

  1. Visible in the service area
  2. Interacts and initiates engagement with customers
  3. Presents a cheerful, positive attitude toward guests
  4. Solicits and appropriately responds to customer feedback
  5. Checks and directs team members and reinforces customer interaction

Service Quality

  1. Monitor and properly positions team members
  2. Assess service quality (SOS) when doing regular travel path
  3. Detects and rectifies service deviations promptly

Speed of Service

  1. Assesses speed of service on a regular basis
  2. Implements zoning
  3. Coordinates with the production area the flow of guests

Managing Production

  1. Product Quality and Safety
  2. Checks the whole  production area in terms of readiness
  3. Detects deviations in product quality, processes, food safety, and in other SOPs
  4. Calls the attention of kitchen team members executing sub standard procedure and makes recommendations on how to address the concern
  5. Assesses product quality on a regular basis (either by performing actual product quality check with RM or ARM and/or soliciting customer feedback)
  6. Product availability
  7. Checks stocks/mis-en-place items for availability based on forecast 
  8. Monitors production flow and assist in kitchen bottleneck
  9. Coordinates production with the ARM and FTL, including Out-of-stock items and products to be pushed
  10. Service quality
  11. Monitors achievement of food serving time and oter product related time standards
  12. Responds to quality related concerns appropriately

Managing Cleanliness

  1. Attends to cleanliness of cutomer and non-customer areas
  2. Enforces food safety and cleanliness and sanitation procedures
  3. Follows merchandising guidelines and ensures these are clean and in good condition

Administrative Duties

  1. Does frontline manpower scheduling and allocation to be checked and approved by the restaurant manager
  2. Ensures equipment and facilities readiness
  3. Monitors cleanliness and maintenance of both customer and non-customer area
  4. Conducts regular meetings to team members
  5. Monitors performance and provide feedback
  6. Delegates duties and responsibilities to frontline team members
