The introduction of cake snacks and seeing its strong potential in the market has inspired the Management to venture into the cake snacks business. Thus, 1996 saw the birth of a new company under the name SUNCREST FOODS INCORPORATED.
SUNCREST started its humble beginnings with an office and a factory located inside the Rebisco Compound at Quezon City. Eventually, the new company transferred its small operations to Caloocan City. The new site ventured in producing variety of cake products and it boasts of the following:
a) Guaranteed oven-fresh and carefully prepared to meet the consumers exacting taste. It uses only the finest baking ingredients, which consists of creamy nutritious milk, high-grade flour, farm fresh eggs and a secret recipe that assures total consumer satisfaction.
b) The first and only cupcake brand in the market that guarantees freshness due to longer shelf life.
c) The first cupcake brand packed in its metallized foil packaging for that sealed in freshness and high quality.
CUPP KEYK’s first line of flavor offering was Nutty Choco. The test market was proved to be very successful as our target market areas readily accepted CUPP KEYK as a new favorite snack. And in short time, the management decided to go full blast with CUPP KEYK Nutty Choco being made available nationwide. The success of Nutty Choco paved the way for the introduction of different CUPP KEYK flavors.
The prospects for new company to succeed appear to be very bright. The increased sales and market potential of CUPP KEYK has strengthened the Management’s vision of a very successful SUNCREST in the future. The first step in achieving this goal was evident when SUNCREST’s office and factory were transferred to its humble beginnings inside the REBISCO Compound to its new location in Valenzuela City. To be considered as a major expansion, there is a need for hiring of more workers and the procurement of more advanced baking equipment to further boost the production capacity.
Presently, the company remains to be the dominant player in the cupcake industry. It’s continuous innovation in introducing new cupcake concepts set the trend in the cupcake industry in the nation. The launch of Fudgee Barr in 2002 and Choco Topps in 2008 have remarkably increased the market of packaged cakes. To further expand our market, Suncrest introduced other baked products like breads (Crossini), donuts (Doowee Donut) and cake varieties (Cheezy Melt, Whoopie Marshmallow Cake).
Suncrest will continuously create innovative and delightful products within reach of the consumers for many years to come.
